The towers loomed above him. Large structures made to dominate and enforce the power of those within. "They definitely do their job well", thought Lucifer.
Lucifer was a well groomed man, with a prospective future in the corporate world, especially now that it had been recognised by the most powerful company around, Great Ordinaries Diminish ltd.
This was his first day at the office.
The receptionists desk gleamed in reflected sunlight, appearing almost holy.
He was informed by Peter the receptionist to go on up to his new team area.
After ascending those gleaming stairs and feeling very light headed, as though he were up in the clouds, he reached his new team.
It consisted of such well known faces as Michael and John. The rest of the fabled team were there too.
He was greeted with the expected level of welcome, no more, no less. This was the big leagues and all was done by the book.
Gabriel leaned in close to Michael, "You think we can trust him?"
Michael replied in the smallest of voices, "doubt it, but we need a scapegoat".
And so, Lucifer was inducted into the corporate world with his new team, and a good atmosphere followed for weeks, with him seeming to feel accepted and yet still slightly out of the group.
It was now he begun to question some of the side tasks with which the other members of his group were applying themselves to.
While they worked hard for the betterment of the business, a large number of their projects also seemed to end badly for the director, the big G.O.D as he was known.
Lucifer suspected something was wrong.
Unfortunately, he didnt act upon his suspicions.
And so, he continued with his job as per usual, occasionally wondering yet never believing such a group could be malicious.
And so it was when he was finally used, he didnt have the slightest idea of it coming.
One day Lucifer reported for work as usual, had his one cup of coffee, one doughnut, and one chair to sit in.
This had been the routine for the last few months, with occasional bathroom breaks to break up the monotone existence.
Today was the day of change.
Lucifer received a call;
"Meet me in my office now." *beep**beep*beep*
This could only be one person, the director.
Lucifer didnt know how to react, he sweated, he thought, he fretted, he tried to be calm, then he accepted it.
'Maybe this was the day of a promotion' he thought
And so with that thought he climbed higher to face his fate.
He entered the office. It was dark. Not a single bit of light entered this room uninvited, without an appointment, 12 recalls, and at least one murder to earn its passage
A voice boomed from the chair at the far end of the room
"Your day of reckoning has come. You thought I would not notice the malicious acts u have been performing underneath my nose for the past few months, but your workmates have been loyal enough to inform me of your role in them."
"You sought to succeed me, to take my position, yet now the truth has been brought into the light and you will not survive. For your crimes I banish you from this company, and may you descend into the deepest fires of hell"
With those words Lucifers world ended
Suddenly there was blackness and pain
Then blissful unconsciousness.
When he awoke, Lucifer could smell only brimstone, see only flames and heat waves rise off the nearby barren plains, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not cool himself.
The air its self was sucked dry, not a drop of moisture in this god-forsaken place.
Except in his own body, murmured a little voice within his head.
For 4 days and nights did Lucifer resist this voice, claiming that the director was forgiving, that he would not forsake him forever on a false charge.
On the fifth day he gave into his own desire, and fled his existence, clawed his own arm open to reach any liquid. And eventually bled out his own life through that one slice, and yet even as he uttered his last breath of "I Forgive Myself, for you never shall", nothing noticed as Lucifer slipped away into oblivion...

death could be a life-changing experience
I don't really care what you say. I believe that love IS possible, even for an android like me...?
